Can I bring a friend or tying partner?

Of course, the more the merrier! However, unless the event is specifically priced for pairs or per rigger, each person will need their own booking. This is to ensure we have enough space for everyone. Please read the entire description of the class or event you are attending for information on if it’s priced per person or per pair.

What equipment will I need?

Each class will have more details in its description, but in  general… If you have your own ropes, bring them. If you don’t have ropes, we often provide them for our beginner classes and we will have rope available for rent or purchase. Also, bring your favorite form of note-taking supplies and maybe a water bottle.

What do I wear for shibari?

You want form-fitting (not loose/baggy) clothes you can move freely in. Think yoga attire! Just avoid anything too silky/slippery as it may make it harder to keep ropes where you place them. 

Is Shibari ARTlanta a s3x club or dungeon?

No, we provide a safe, educational space. We do not allow nudity let alone anything more than that. We have gone to great lengths to establish an inclusive, neutral, welcoming environment for anyone who may be interested in Shibari. Students are free to begin or continue their shibari journey without distraction or discomfort regardless of their personal levels of openness.

How should I prepare for a shibari class?

Make sure you eat something so your brain is well-fueled! Also, be sure to practice good hygiene beforehand and come fresh and clean so everyone is comfortable with the closeness shibari requires 🙂

How do I get my member discount?

ON THE WEBSITE

  1. Make sure you are logged in to your Momence Account.
  2. If the event is included for free with your membership, simply choose whether or not you are bringing a guest and hit “Book Now”
  3. If the event is not included for free you will see a prompt notifying you as such. Choose “Book Without Membership” to be taken to a checkout screen where your discount will be applied. ** Please note, you do not need to register your tying partner for classes and workshops not included for free in your membership**

ON THE MOMENCE APP

  1. On the booking page select your membership as the payment option and select “Continue”
  2. If there is a prompt letting you know that the classis not included for free with your membership, select another payment method (i.e. “Card”) to continue with your discount already applied.
Where is the studio?

We are in Decatur. You can find us on Google Maps as “ARTlanta Studios.”

PLEASE do not use Apple maps. It will send you to Lawrenceville. Also if you use our address below, make sure you do not hit the auto-populated Lawrenceville address… make sure it’s Decatur. Our address is:

We are in the shopping center adjacent to the Goodwill parking lot. There is plenty of parking; however, we recommend parking as close to our door as possible and leave zero bags or valuable visible in your car… We have had the very unfortunate experience of a string of car smash-n-grabs in late 2024 and the police have been zero help. Anyway, our door says “ARTlanta Studios” on it and is next to Farmer’s Insurance.
